Robot Welder Operator

DTI, parent company of Sudenga Industries and Dur-A-Lift, is hiring a robot welder operator to join our team. We are located just outside of George, Iowa.

Diversified Technologies Inc. is currently looking for a Robot Welder to join our team and operate state-of-the-art robotic welding systems to produce high-quality welded components. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. DTI provides a competitive wage and benefits package.

Job Title: Robot Welder

Location: George, Iowa

Position Summary:
The Robot Welder is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating robotic welding equipment to join metal parts according to specifications. This position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced production environment. (This job description is intended to be a general guideline of responsibilities.  There will be incidental tasks not listed on a job description that arise and, as a member of the DTI team.  Each employee is expected to help in as many of these areas as they can.) 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate robotic welding machines for production runs.
  • Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling into robotic systems.
  • Monitor weld quality, make adjustments as needed, and ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Perform inspections using gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Troubleshoot robotic welding equipment and report issues to maintenance or engineering.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of robotic welding equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to improve efficiency and reduce defects.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in robotic welding or CNC/automation operation.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, etc.) and metallurgy.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control standards.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organized and detailed oriented.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Dependable.
  • Ability to work with a team.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience with robotic welding systems such as Fanuc, ABB, or Lincoln.
  • Manual welding experience (MIG/TIG) as backup when needed.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
