Our Sales Team Feature for the month of May is Lynette Wagenaar – An internal sales staff member here at Sudenga Industries!
Q. Lynette, how long have you worked for Sudenga Industries?
A. I’ve worked at Sudenga since May of 1997—so 25 years!
Q. Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?
A. I grew up on an acreage outside of Rock Rapids, Iowa. I now live on a farm near Little Rock, Iowa, where I have lived ever since I got married in 1984.
Q. Where did you attend school?
A. I attended Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids, and then attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls, SD for accounting.
Q. Care to share anything about your family?
A. I have been married to my husband, Kevin, for almost 38 years. I have four children and seven grandchildren.
Q. What are your favorite things to do when you aren’t working?
A. During the summer I enjoy doing anything outside, including working in the yard or garden, and fishing. During the winter, I like to stay indoors and play with my grandkids, and also pass the time with adult coloring books. I also enjoy traveling and concerts year-round.
Q. Do you have any favorite sports teams?
A. My favorite sports team is the Iowa Hawkeyes. I also cheer on the Minnesota Vikings, The Minnesota Twins, and any sports teams that my grandchildren are competing on.
Q. What is your favorite work memory?
A. When I first began working here, I was sent on a wild goose chase to go get a part from the “basement”. The problem was, there was no basement to retrieve the part from. Eventually I figured out what was going on.
Q. What is one thing that a lot of people might not know about Sudenga products?
A. Sudenga products are sold and used all around the world.
Q. What is one fun fact about you that not many people might know?
A. I am the youngest of five children and the only girl. My father was a salesman for Cargill my entire life, so I feel as though that background knowledge helped me when I transferred over to sales here at Sudenga.
Q. Anything else you would like to share?
A. Sudenga Industries has always been a great place to work and is very family friendly. There is room to grow here. I started out in the shipping department, where I was lining up loads and working with customers. I eventually became the manager of the warehouse/shipping department, making me the first female supervisor at Sudenga. After that, I moved to sales. If you work hard, show up and are a dedicated employee & have goals, you will be rewarded at Sudenga.
