Diversified Technologies, Inc. (DTI) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coatings Coordinator to lead and support all aspects of our powder and liquid coating operations. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality finished products, optimizing throughput, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement across the coatings process. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Job Title: Coatings Coordinator (Powder & Wet Paint)

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the team leader for all powder and liquid coating operations
- Develop and implement training and coaching programs for new and existing employees
- Ensure the quality of all finished coated products meets company standards
- Coordinate workflow and parts movement through the coating process
- Monitor and improve throughput while minimizing operational costs
- Maintain coating equipment and oversee preventive maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot coating systems and processes as needed
- Oversee pretreatment processes (wash, degrease, phosphatize, rinse, seal, dry)
- Ensure proper application of primers and topcoats, including film thickness standards
- Monitor curing processes (time and temperature) and verify proper coating adhesion
- Conduct inspections and maintain quality control documentation
- Promote and enforce a safe work environment across all facilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, hazardous waste, and wastewater regulations
- Track and reduce rework, scrap, and warranty costs; report findings to management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with coatings and pretreatment suppliers
- Support cross-functional coordination with other departments
- Hold employees accountable to quality and its standards
Primary Tasks:
- Team leader in all liquid and powder coatings
- Develop Training & Coaching systems for new employees (and cross training)
- Prep parts, preload or stage parts
- Pretreatment – wash, degrease, phosphatize, rinse, seal, dry (pH level, % by volume)
- Prime (mill thickness)
- Top Coat (mill thickness film building)
- Curing (time-temp)
- Cool or dry time
- Unload finishes parts
- Inspecting correct cure (QC & Documentation)
- Help promote safe environment throughout all facilities
- Work effectively with all departments
- OSHA / Hazardous waste / Waste Water regulations and documentation
- Document day to day operations.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to stay calm and objective in high-pressure or conflict situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and general computer applications
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Reliable, dependable, and accountable
- Understanding of cost control and operational efficiency
- Experience in powder coating, liquid coating, or related manufacturing processes preferred
