Team Floyd receives safety award

Members of Sudenga’s and Dur-A-Lift’s production teams were awarded for their recent safety milestone — two consecutive years without any lost time injury claims.

May 12 – Two representatives from insurance group Strategic Comp arrived at the Diversified Technologies production plant early Thursday afternoon to present a safety award to Team Floyd—a safety team composed of members of both Sudenga & Dur-A-Lift’s production crews.

Diversified Technologies is the parent company of both Sudenga Industries & Dur-A-Lift.

Before gifting the award, Strategic Comp’s Regional Vice President Travis Hall addressed the room, speaking on the importance of coaching safe behaviors. He reminded the group that employers and employees share a similar goal — that everyone leaves the workplace each day in the same condition that they came. Hall also spoke about the significance of celebrating milestones, which was the purpose of this award.

Team Floyd was presented the award to commemorate 2 years without a lost-time injury claim. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, also known as OSHA, a manufacturing group of this size would average 3.4 lost-time injury claims per year. Across all industries, OSHA’s average incident rate per 100 employees is 2.9 lost-time accidents each year.
