One of the biggest advantages of D-Series sweeps is the ability to manage sweep operation from outside the bin when the system is properly equipped.
With Sudenga’s Above-Floor Collector Ring option, D100 and D150 sweeps have a permanent power source for the sweep and tractor drives. The sweep stays installed in the bin, and operators do not need to enter the bin to run a power cord as part of normal sweep operation.
Once the intermediate sumps have drained enough grain to uncover the sweep, the system can be started and operated from outside the bin. When equipped with Sudenga’s Auto Advance panel, operators gain added control over sweep movement as the system works through the grain, helping reduce hands-on adjustment and keeping them away from moving grain and sweep components during normal cleanout.
When comparing sweep systems, floor-cleaning performance is an important part of the decision. D-Series sweeps are designed to clean the floor in one pass while using flighting to move grain efficiently toward the unload system.
Sweep bristles help maintain close contact with the floor, reducing the amount of manual sweeping needed after unloading. At the same time, the flighting actively engages grain and helps move it toward the center unload.
